Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do your training sessions look like?

We offer personal training sessions, but most of our training is in small groups Semi-Private Training. Small groups bring out the best in people, always encouraging others during their sessions.

Our Trainers are responsible for guiding each client through their personalized programming, spotting, and encouraging, and motivating all during their sessions.

A truly empowering way to train! Four to six people with a Definition professional trainer guiding  them and  working toward their personal excellence.

  • What does your training consist of?

The Most important thing we can do for clients is educate and encourage them. We want individuals to have the proper tools to be empowered to pursue their personal goals. Any good program starts with a good strength program!

Speed, balance, movement, and agility all progress from a strong strength base! Individuals will be functionally evaluated, and a personal strength program will be designed, using various equipment like free weights, machines, thera-balls, medicine balls, resistance bands, and much more. From this base, we supplement your fitness with training in other disciplines: plyometrics, vision, nutrition, mental training, speed, agility, balance, and overall fitness.

Each discipline will build through a functional and educational progression to ensure individuals have both the skill and knowledge set to progress toward their goals and surpass them.

  • Why is Definition Training so concerned about the educational component?

Education is empowerment! The more we impart as to why we are training and how the training is affecting you, the better your commitment will be toward reaching your goals!

Education makes us understand that this is a journey to better health, athleticism, and your personal goals - NOT just a workout!! We find this especially true when approaching our athletes' nutrition. We are here to help the entire individual in all components of health and fitness.

  • How do you train athletes of differing ages, abilities, and sports?

Our programs are age-appropriate and functionally progressed! Now, what does that mean? A 7th grader will not train the same as a junior, nor will the junior train like a college athlete. We monitor your strength, power, speed, agility, etc., and progress according to the growth and development of each individual!

But, we also train functionality. Ensuring that each athlete is performing age-appropriate movements for their skill Level. Addressing and movement pattern disjunctions as they arise and moving towards increasingly difficult lifts as they Age. Tracking progress along the way to ensure strength, speed, agility, and sport-specific improvements are being improved upon.
